Black honey is a raw honey that naturally forms in deep rainforest of Southeast Asia. It is rich of enzymes, vitamin and medicine properties (actually the color is amber dark color). The darker the honey the better it is. Amber dark honey will turn to black color when store in ages (more than 5 years).
Black honey is exclusively harvested from rainforest of Southeast Asia country (like Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Burma and Laos) where majority areas of these countries are cover by tropical rainforest. About 300 million acres of untouched forest in Southeast Asia (SEA)
The most distinctive attribute of the Southeast Asia rainforest is the overwhelming abundance of plant and animal species. Southeast Asia tropical rainforest are the Earth's oldest continuous ecosystems. Fossil records show that the forests of Southeast Asia have existed in more 100 million years.
The rainforest has enormous structural diversity, with layers of vegetation from the forest floor to the canopy 30m above providing a vast number of habitats. With the rainforest being stable over longer periods of time (there was no Ice Age here, nor any prolonged period of drought), long enough to evolve its unique flora and fauna and to adapt to its very specialized local conditions. Southeast Asia is home to more than half of the world's unique species of flora and fauna. 37% of all medicines prescribed in the US have active ingredients derived from rainforest plants.
70% of the plant species identified by the US National Cancer Institute as holding anti-cancer properties come from rainforests plants.
These unique flora and fauna in rainforest naturally provide nectar for honeybees to produce most sought after honey - Black honey which has natural medicines properties. The nutrition of black honey was rated the best in the world. There is no other raw honey can comes close to its in terms of nutrition and medicine value.
In Southeast Asia countries the weather is hot and high humilities. The honey produces naturally by forest bees (Apis Dorsata) have higher water content (about 21 t0 23 %) compare to farm honey (less than 18% water content).
Farm honey or beekeeper is easily available anywhere in this world. The bee hives are keeps into enclose wooden box. That will make the raw honey less expose to environment and hence has lower water content. |
